This summer PlantLink together with ESCAPAdE (Erasmus curricula in Applied Plant Sciences) and ELLS (Euro League for Life Sciences) co-organizes the MSc summer Course “Host Plant Resistance Breeding as a part of Integrated Pest management”.
The course content includes e.g. Pests and pathogens, plant defence and resistance biology, chemical ecology, control methods and plant protection in relation to global climate change. For more information on course content, see the information poster and the course syllabus. In addition to the interesting topic we hope that you will be motivated to join the course due to the innovative teaching that will be used and the possibility to interact with teachers and fellow students from several European universities. One part of ESCAPAdE is about innovative teaching strategies, so students can expect quite few traditional seminars in the course, but many other ways of learning. Another important part in both ESCAPAdE and ELLS is student (and teacher) mobility. Students and teachers from several of SLU’s partner Universities in ESCAPAdE and ELLS will participate in the course, giving great oportunities for discussions and exchange of ideas by people from different learning backgrounds. Taken together, this course is sure to be both interesting and fun!
The course is planned to be in Alnarp 17-21 of August, with following home assignments to be completed by the 27th of August, and will grant succefull participants 3.0 ECTs. In case of Covid-19 restrictions the course can be taken remotely. Students can apply at www.universityadmissions.se until 15th of March. Swedish students can also apply at www.antagning.se.
